but what makes the lakes so special?

Close your eyes, take a deep breath in, listen to the freshwater of the lakes slowly clacking on the rocks while the breeze runs down your spine. Open your eyes, smile. The Lake District is a magical and wonderful place to come and relax, unwind, and take in all the beauty of mother earth. It is also a place where you can really put nature to the test and challenge yourself with fun, engaging outdoor activities.
